Human Rights Advocating Groups Led by Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund

In the USA today, human protective services can come for your child, mother or any member of the family and take him or her for good. They will take your loved ones out, and you will never see them again. This is one form violating their rights.

Apart from that immigrant who happens to come to America, get negative treatment which is against human rights. No one wants to believe this is going on in this country. That is why many groups have come up so that they can fight on behalf of these minority groups.

  1. National Urban League

This group aims at protecting and giving help to Black Americans. It offers advantages like education, teaching on civil rights and assistance with all legal matters. Lastly, National Urban League protects all immigrants from all types of harassment.

  1. American Civil Liberties Union,

This is a group that advocates for migrants’ rights, and it aims at enforcing civil rights of immigrants. This is the only group that fights for gays and all disabled people.

ACLU was started in 1920, and since then, it has even gone ahead in fighting for rights of prisoners. It is recognized for fighting for minorities who are denied the right of accessing the court.

  1. The Lacey and Larkin Frontera

This famous group was started and funded by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. For those who do not know who is Jim and Lacey, here are some hints. These are journalists who are highly associated with the allegation against Maricopa County. Jim and Lacey discovered that all those who were detained were legal immigrants. It was also noted that all these people came from one community – the Hispanic.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin pointed out that and wrote it in the New Times. Due to that, they were arrested and jailed. Many people mostly from the Hispanic family protested against that. Later on, Jim and Lacey were released. They filed a case against the Sheriffs. Their case went to the Court which gave the two a settlement fee of $3.75 million. They used all the money to fund and help migrant rights organizations that operated in Arizona.

Conclusion

Most of you have come across people who are oppressed, but you have no chance of helping them. You will probably have no response to your side because the system is not equipped to deal with minorities in a real crisis. This is very bad, because of there thousands of people that need help.
